We are a company of real estate professionals who bring different backgrounds, ideas, and points of view to the table each and every day.
Our agents, staff members, and leadership are committed to waking up and doing our best every day. We are not leaving the fight for equality.
We are committed to talking about the past, the present, and the future.
In addition to the inclusion of ‘equity’ within the company’s belief system, Keller Williams leaders and agents are paving the path toward true change through the inclusion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committees at the market center level.
“The rationale for this motion is to establish a platform for each market center to develop and promote strategies and best practices within the realms of racial, social, sexual, gender, age, disability, socioeconomic, and religious diversity for the betterment of Keller Williams culture,” National Social Equity Task Force co-chair Kymber Menkiti said.
The committees are advancing the company’s mission to provide opportunities for all by working at the most granular level – in the market centers that make up the building blocks of a global operation.
Diverse customer bases require diversity in the workspace — not just ethnic diversity, but diversity of thought as well.
Oftentimes, workplaces experience unconscious bias within the recruiting process. Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside of their own conscious awareness. Everyone holds unconscious beliefs about various social and identity groups, and these biases stem from one’s tendency to organize social worlds by categorizing.
Keller Willilams leaders and agents recognize that in order to combat unconscious bias and assumptions about people and situations, we must expand our business to new networks. This includes being open to recruiting non-linear candidates to expand our talent pool into untapped potential, as well as taking time everyday to reflect on our own assumptions.
Keller Williams Realty Signature has agent resource groups which bring our REALTORS together across the company.
The Keller Williams ALC or Agent Leadership Council is made up of the top 20% of agents in each office. This dynamic ‘board of directors’ is actively involved in the leadership decisions that make the office more productive and profitable.
Their roles are to inspire, motivate, participate and listen. By having input from these associates, each office can tailor their strategies to thrive in all stages of the market.
The Culture Committee performs the following functions as a steward of the Market Center’s Culture:
The Career Development Committee will:
The Financial Planning Committee will:
The Growth Committee will:
Each Market Center will have a Safety Committee that promotes training programs and other initiatives to implement safety standards and best practices for Keller Williams offices and for agents conducting business in the field.
The Committee should be composed of agents within the Market Center that have a strong passion and desire for agents’ safety in the marketplace. The Committee Chair must be an ALC member. A Safety Class will be offered in each Market Center at least annually.
We stand behind Gary Keller’s proclamation that it is not enough for our Keller Williams family members to refrain from exclusive and discriminatory practices, but rather we all must be engaged and active in the fight against exclusivity and discrimination.
